Applied Learning (ApL) is an integral part of the senior secondary curriculum. Students can choose courses as elective subjects according to their interests, wishes and aspirations. The characteristics of the courses are as follows:
- The curriculum provides diverse learning activities from which students can apply and practice relevant underlying theories and concepts
- Develop career-related competencies and develop students’ knowledge, skills and attitudes
- Develop generic skills and understand your aspirations in real situations to prepare for further studies and work in the future
Starting with the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination in 2018, students' results are subdivided into "Attended", "Attained with Distinction (I)" and "Attained with Distinction (II)". The performance level of “Attained and Distinction (I)” is equivalent to the level 3 of the HKDSE Category A, while “Attained and Distinction (II)” is equivalent to Level 4 or above.
